Three-day Diary

I still miss you till today.
This song is for you, Nikos.
Happy 24th birthday, sweet god! :)

It has been 6 years. I saw this from my diary when that fateful moment happened. :(

THREE-DAY DIARY

March 8, 2006
11:00 AM
Wednesday

It has been a week since I last sent him an SMS. I think it's enough time that I gave him to think over about forgiving me.
I sent him a message earlier this morning. But he didn't reply. Pride took over me so I didn't text him again.
(sigh)
I miss him. I hate long distance relationships. Why does he have to study in San Beda? There are lots of good schools here in Cebu! :(
He's probably partying now..with prettier girls. Damn, I'm insecure again!
Never mind!
I hate him.
I hate him now.
I shouldn't have asked sorry in the first place.

March 9, 2006
Thursday

I can't take it anymore. I really miss that half-bred guy! He's my sweet god and i'm his sweetie goddess. So, I texted him how much I'm longing to be with him again.
I was so happy seeing a reply from him but got sad again reading it.
>>I'm sorry, Missy. I don't want to talk to you yet. You go along and find someone new. You deserve someone better. Just remember,  you'll always be someone special to me.<<
It hurts a lot but I still responded:
^^How could I find someone better when for me you're already the best?....Can't we work this out? Please? I'm really sorry about what I have said..I'm sorry..^^
He didn't reply.
I sent him messages of regret and asking forgiveness over and over again. Still no reply.
(sigh)
I cried myself to sleep today.

March 10, 2006
Friday
Morning

I woke up at 5:32 AM 'coz my phone rang. His name appeared on my phone's screen. He's calling me!
"Hi! You called!",I started excitedly despite my groggy voice.
"Hello...Is this Missy?", an unfamiliar voice echoed from the other line.
"Mmm..yeah..Who's this, please?"I replied, disappointed. He's calling me Missy so he probably listens to the FM Radio I'm working at.
"This is Arcus. Nikos' friend.."
"Oh..hi! Why d'you call? Where's he?" I said, now upset.
"Missy, somethin' happened..."
I suddenly got nervous. My palm sweated and I felt cold all over.
"Come over to Nikos' house here at Beverly Hills, okay? Just take a cab.", he said it gently, requesting, not commanding.
Before I could formulate questions, he already said goodbye.
Beverly hills? He's in Cebu and I don't know?
(hurt)

Just got home (boarding house)  from Nikos'. I don't feel like talking. He's doubling the pain he's giving me lately. Everything really hurts like hell! This life sucks!!!

I can't sleep. It's nearly 12 midnight. I'm supposed to greet him coz it's going to be his 18th birthday in less than half an hour. But I can't... (sad)
Who am I gonna greet?
Nikos is gone.
He left me earlier today...

March 10,2006
Friday
11:36 PM

My phone rang. My mom called.
"What happened?", she sound worried.
"Ma..." I wept bitterly. My mom knows what's going on between me and Nikos lately. According to her, it's just a test. That things like cool-off  and breaking up do happen in relationships at times.
i wish she could hug me now. I really need her.
"Tell me...", she said, soothingly.
"Ma,Nikos left me already..."
"That's okay. Maybe he's really not for you. Maybe you can still find other guys to love. Or maybe in the end, in the future, you'll be together again. Both of you are still young, sweetie..Everything will be fine.."
"Ma..you don't understand..Ma, Nikos is gone..He's dead..."

Name Tag

Name Tag

"Summer!",somebody called  my name. I turned to look who called me despite the fact that I'm in the middle of a traffic jam.

A guy inside a sleek Lamborghini Murcielago waved his hand at me. He looks unfamiliar. But mind you, he's one really handsome guy! So, I smiled at him, too. Well, not only because he's handsome---with a gazillion worth of a car---but it might be because we may have met somewhere before and I just forgot his name and face. Well, who knows!

"Gotta go!", I said pointing to the other side of the street where I'm supposed to be crossing. I acted as if we're friends. What can I do? I'm a friendly person!

He smiled at me, waved again and winked just in time for the vehicles to move.

I smiled, confused. Who could that guy be? Urgh! No matter how i squeeze my brain, I really couldn't remember where I met him or saw him before. This is  insane! I usually don't forget attractive fellas---especially those as heavenly-looking as him. He looks like that Thai actor where an ugly duckling girl turned beautiful swan fell in love with him and vice versa. Oh, shoot! I even forgot his name, too. Was it Marlo? Marco? Mauro?

"Hmmm..", I tapped my right foot, still thinking.

"Hey, Summer!", an unfamiliar voice sounded. I looked sideways, seeing weird-looking guy.

"Hi, Summer!", he said again, with a grin showing a missing front tooth.

Duh! Do I know you?, I wanted to say but instead, "Ahem...mmm...do we know each other?"

He laughed-smiled and pointed to the rectangular, pink-colored piece of cardboard placed neatly pinned on my shirt.

I looked at it and became dumb-founded.

Oh men! You could just imagine how stupid I am! I forgot I was still wearing my name tag which I wore during the flight attendant seminar I went to moments ago. Now I know why they know my name. Stupid! Stupid me!

I was really blushing beet-red as I told that scary-looking guy,"Oh! Thanks for telling me! I'm such a moron. I forgot to take this off." urgh! This is so embarrassing!

That weird guy just laughed and walked away, shaking his head. For sure, he's got a funny story to tell his friends. And that irritated me all the more. Adding to the fact that that handsome boy i saw awhile ago could be laughing at me, thinking I'm into him.! Shit!

I took off the name tag and started to tear it to pieces due to frustration.

"Don't...", a familiar voice said from behind. I turned around. "Don't tear that. I'm thankful for that piece of paper. I got to know your name because of that. Do you know that I have been looking at your life in a distance since I first saw you in the mall 5 months ago? Please don't think I'm a stalker. I probably am categorically but my intentions are good.I'm just smitten by your beauty, Summer. Now I know your name. By the way, I'm Idan", the handsome guy from that vehicle on the street moments ago said.

I smiled shyly. we shook hands. Hmmm.. Works of fate!

Months later from the handshake,

Years later from the first holding of hands,

And finally,

Blue Moon

Just a cute little fact before you read this:
According to the more recent definition, a blue moon is the second full moon in a calendar month. For a blue moon to occur, the first of the full moons must appear at or near the beginning of the month so that the second will fall within the same month (the average span between two moons is 29.5 days).\

But my story is about a myth that blue moons are rare. Just like the saying "once in a blue moon". In real life, the moon would never really become blue, but in the story, that's how the Blue Moon is supposed to be.

Well, i hope you guys enjoy this one! :)

BLUE MOON

Before men could even learn to write, before they even knew science and alchemy, they already know this thing called LOVE. The wonderful emotion which knows no time, no beginning and no end, no place, and no particular person. It is a feeling that make us happy..and sad. A something that can be expressed, and be hidden without success. A thing that that touches all of us and all of life. LOVE.
***
It all began in the ancient times when giants roamed the earth, and gods and goddesses ruled the world inhabited by mortals, demigods and other entities. Harmony was established in the heavens and earth for the mortals followed all the rules set upon them as they revered greatly the immortal ones. On the other hand, the rulers are generous to their people.
Everything went smoothly until…
The middle of the night came under the BLUE MOON. They said that a blue moon is a very rare event. It can only be experienced in every one thousand years. It is in this glorious event that the beautiful goddesses of Mount Parnassus would come down to earth and choose any body of water to bathe into as the luminescence of the moon rejuvenates their powers and immortality for another millennia.
Accidentally, Haenos, the handsomest of all men, was walking near the Lake Elixir that night. He was doubting whether love was real. There were many pretty ladies of his time and place but he just couldn’t get hold of that feeling they call love. He was on the verge of not believing such nonsense when he saw a very beautiful maiden bathing in the middle of the lake. She was closing her eyes, feeling the rays of the moon. Her hair was glowing a bluish white hue, her skin heavenly, and her face that even surpassed the beauty of a song, a poem or a flower.
Haenos was dumbstruck. He felt like the world has stopped turning and he couldn’t help but just stare at the angel before him. He felt something inside of him..something different..something he’d never felt before. Could this be love? He asked himself as the maiden opened her eyes.
She was startled seeing him. She didn’t know what to do. And she just couldn’t stare at him without finding herself blushing. So, she just looked down.
What is a mortal doing here? A handsome mortal!, she smiled at the thought and felt ashamed later on. No, she can’t be attracted to him. It just can’t be.
She saw ripples in the crystal clear water. The moment she looked up, he was already infront of her…only a few inches away. She smelled his sweet boyish scent. He has dark mysterious eyes which tries to tell her something. She could see a smile painted in his pink lips and straight-set white teeth. Again, she blushed. A tickle in her heart followed. This was the first she felt this. Being a goddess, their feelings are walled and guarded, especially when it comes to those of not their kind.
“You are so beautiful”, he whispered. He realized he was facing the goddess of heart and attraction. It was the first time he’d seen her come down to earth. The paintings the old race made for her, did no justice of how striking and wonderful she looks.
She sucked in air. You are beautiful, too,she wanted to say. Instead, she shyly looked up to him straight in the eye.
That single night, led them to fall in love with each other.
They dated in the meadows of tulips, the banks of the River Tigris or Euphrates, swam on the Lake Elixir or simply lie down in the clouds. Everything was beautiful. But still, fear was in their hearts.
“I know this is wrong but I love you. No matter what I do, I just can’t stop this”, he told her, cupping her face, kissing her in the forehead.
“I love you, too.” She sighed. “Why are there rules? Why do we have to break rules for us to be happy? Why can’t we be free? I want to be with you..forever”, she whispered, hugging him knowing in her heart that she would always love him even if obstacles would separate them.
If they would end up together, would she give up her immortality and power? Or would he give up his mortality and forever leave his friends and family on earth? Who would bend? Who would leave everything behind?
Wouldn’t it hurt? And if it hurts one of them, wouldn’t it hurt the other more?
“Bersvire!”, a booming angry voice sounded, radiating to the earth and heavens like a loud thunder.
The lovers looked towards the where the voice came from. Seeing where it originated, Bersvire stifled a soft cry. It was Lord Craeon, the Prime Ruler of the heavens and earth. They were doomed.
“Please! Don’t hurt her! This is all my fault. Please don’t punish her, Lord Craeon. I’m begging you..” Haenos knelt infront of the great lord, tears and fear in his eyes. But it’s to no avail. They broke the first rule of the Holy Tablet that no one mortal and one immortal should love each other romantically.
Death would be given to the mortal and the immortal would be driven off from Mount Parnassus, the first heaven, taking away its powers, therefore, remaining as an infutile immortal.
That dawn before they were condemned…
“Please don’t cry. This wouldn’t hurt. I would be dying for you..and it would be all worth it. I would still see you in the next life, right?”
She burst into tears. For someone inclined to be punished forever, there is no next life. She also fears that she no longer has powers to go to that time and place where he’s be born again.
“I want to die with you…but I can’t” Immortals couldn’t die unless Lord Craeon would command the all the Heavens to. But it has never happened in the history of Mt.Parnassus. “Haenos, though you deserve more than all that I can give, you ask nothing.”
“I love you”, he whispered, “and knowing that you love me,too, is more than enough, Bersvire. I will wait for you…”
He was burned to death, her seeing it all as he was consumed by the angry flames. But there’s nothing she can do but cry and ache her heart out.
Bersvire was then bought to an uncharted part of the universe to live miserably forever. She was trapped in the last heaven.
 ***
But.. Love is powerful. It knows no rules, nor no boundaries. All it knows is that it has to prevail. To fight until the fight is over.

"A blue moon is seen in our night sky right this very moment. This is the rarest of all phenomena. Nobody knew how this came to be. Even our scientists are still trying to find out where the moon got the blue luminescence emitting from its core." the TV reporter announced on live tv.

"It's been a thousand years", Krishna stated, closing the ancient book she's reading. She went outside to look at the moon. It's really the same as it is in the book. A book handed down by their ancestors only to chosen ones. Then, she saw the glowing circle at the center of the blue moon.

"Jesus, man! Can't you see it?", Mikel asked his friends. "It's in the center. It's a glowing circle".

"Are you crazy? All we can see is a blue moon, man! And that's that. End of story. Maybe it's just the sun blinding you! Or maybe because of too much heartache!" his friends laughed and teased.

Little did Mikel know that only two people on earth can see the glowing circle. He and another one on the other side of the world.

She's from the East, seeing the moon at night, while he's from the West, seeing it at day. How miraculous as it may seem, the moon fights the golden brightness of the light of the sun.

>> ASL pls<<
^^19, male, new york..u?^^
>>18,girl,iraq<<

Technology has also one way of putting two ends together. It all started there and soon Krishna and Mikel fell in love with each other.

>> i love you, too, mikel...but its hard...i havent seen u yet..(yes,in your facebook and twitter,but not personally)<<
^^does it really matter? would anything change if we see each other now? would your love fade away? krish, i've been real honest with my identity. no photoshop. no borrowing of friend's picture. if you want, i could go and get a ticket now. my savings are enough already for me to travel there..^^
>>please...it's not just that. i'm a muslim...and you're a christian. we just can't be..<<

Days later, Mikel landed on Iraq. He really wanted to marry Krish in the future. No difference in religion could make him stop loving her.

"My heart and life was a mess until you came and fixed it. I can't afford to lose you, Krish. I just can't. I love you too much".

"Please..Please go away! I don't love you!" she sounded angry "What I said via email and chats, those were not real...Now, go away! I don't need you here.." she said that with agony etched in her voice. She didn't really mean to hurt him. She just wanted to save him. Her father is a strict and notorious man and so are her people.

"If you don't love me, then why can I see pain in your eyes? Krishna, please! If you're scared, then so am I. But if I'm with you, I know things will be fine. Please hold my hand and trust me on this. I won't give you up without a fight, Krish.."

The moment he hugged her, a gun shot was heard.

They say that you have to bleed to know you're alive. But Mikel bled because he loved, and will continue to love.

With his last breath, he mouthed the words, "I love you, Bersvire...I will still wait for you.."

She cried, "Haenos!" and he died in her arms.

***

But... Love knows no distance, no difference, no religion. It goes beyond boundaries. Even the impossible.

Another millennium passed.

"Didn't it hurt when you fell?", he asked her.

She laughed. "What are you talking about?"

"Oh..aren't you an angel? Didn't it hurt when you fell from the heavens?"

She smiled. If only,she whispered.

She was an inventor. She create robots---humanoids, to be exact. She made them with emotions and physique that of real humans. In the world that she's living now, robots mingled with humans. It was year 3017.

Her name is Kliere. And his name is Robo 1.7. He is Kleire's masterpiece. He is very human physically, mentally, emotionally. Sometimes, you'd even wonder if he has a soul.

Kleire knows that it's crazy to love Robo. He's a robot. Not human. But deep inside her, she knows, she love him as much as he says he loves her.

"Robo, stop it. Just stop saying those words. Okay?"

"Why? Didn't you install in my system that the truth will set one free? I'm telling the truth because this is what I feel. I really love, Kleire...I know I'm a robot but I'm also capable of human emotions. Is it wrong to love too much? You didn't input in my system the answer to that.", he said with a very hurt expression. Have he been human that could produce tears, he could've cried. But he couldn't.

"God! Listen, Robo...It's not wrong to love too much. It's not wrong to give it all when you love. What's wrong is that I'm human. You're a robot. Can't you see? We're different." she cried, frustrated, angry at herself while pitying him. "Feel this?"---she let him touch her tears---"You can't produce this. Only humans do."

"Just because I can't produce tears, does that mean that the processing units you placed in me doesn't get hurt? Maybe I don't produce that water your lacrimal gland produces but I feel the pain inside the metals and wires you placed inside of me. I don't even understand why I feel pain when robots can't get sick!"

"Just hate me, Robo.."

"It's funny I felt so broken inside...like a glass shattered into a million pieces...but still loving you with all the pieces that are left."

"Damn! Stop it, will you!"she said, hurting, too. I said I don't love you and i don't need you but I lied. I swear, I do,she wanted to tell him that but instead she said, "It's too much poetry I placed in your system..that's why you're saying that."

"You're wrong..." he said, motioning towards the trash bin. There she saw broken pieces of every microchips that's controlling him as a robot.

"How could this be? You're programmed by these!"

He took her hand and looked intently into her eyes.

"Bersvire, don't you recognize me?"

A tear dropped from his eyes.

"Haenos.." she whispered. "Please..please don't leave me this time.."

"I don't want to...but if that would come, always remember that things would always end up right. If things won't go our way again, it's not yet the end. Like I've told you, I wouldn't give up without a fight. Every lifetime that the blue moon has given, I searched for you. And if I have to do it all over again, I would.."

"I'm willing to wait for another thousand of years for you. Now, I understand. Now, I wouldn't ask you to stay. Because I know you'd come back until we find a time and place that's right...a time and place where we can freely love each other.."

They hugged tight and there was a loud bang. They saw a blue fire and smelled sweet smoke. They felt that they're burning in an instant. Those were the last things that their senses perceived. It was the last day of the world. The blue moon has collided with earth that fateful night.

In the nothingness and emptiness, you could hear him say, "I know a place that we can go...a place where no one knows us...a place where we can stay together...forever..", and her saying, "Please take me there..."

"It was a fairytale that night but it didn't end the way I expected it. How could I let it happen? Were my words not right? Did I hold you too tight? With every moment that passed, it kept getting worse. Now, with every breath, I'm sinking deeper. Listen to my heart as it says,'Please take me. You are everything to me and no matter what you'd do, I'll stay.' Does it make any sense to you? I'm telling you this with no wine in my breath..I always said I'd never give up without a fight. And all this time, I've been fighting battles for a reason. A reason I can call YOU..", Haenos told Bersvire that night as she peacefully rested her head on his shoulders. They are looking at the calm sea under the starry-studdied nightsky.

"My life was slowly fading away. I didn't want to fight back anymore. I was breaking down. Then you came. It turned my world upside down. Everything changed in an instant. You made me feel again. I didn't have to fake every smile that I made. I can be myself everytime I'm with you. You changed me. I've never been like this. Never this happy in my entire immortal life. It's as if I can live with only your smile. You made me feel special. You mad me feel loved..", she replied with a hint of a sweet romantic smile on her lips.

"I'm glad we've found this place..."

He answered her with a kiss.

They did find a place where they could live happily ever after. It's hard to find it in reality, that's why they've found it in "Blue Moon". A place of fantasy. A place where the author writes a story that would end with joy in the readers' hearts.

Had it not been for Haenos and Bersvire, had they not found this place at the tip of the pen of the author, there wouldn't be such a place of imagination where they'd love each other with no ifs and buts. If not for them, there wouldn't have been a story called, "BLUE MOON".

Love will really find its way.
No matter how far the distance,
no matter how strong the opponent,
no matter how unwinnable the battle,
no matter how stiff and tough the competition,
no matter how rough the roads to trudge,
no matter how different the beliefs,
no matter how wide the gap,
no matter how great the obstacles,
Love will lead you back and take you home.
It asks no why, no if, no but, no how, no time, no place...
It only asks you to believe
and everything will end up
more than fairytales do.

"You always find the things that you're looking for at the last place you looked.."

A Vase of Yellow Roses

Created: August 27, 2007
              11:39 PM

This is the second of the "Roses" series. There are three. The last one got lost. It was my favorite. Hopefully, I'd be able to still get hold of a copy. :) Anyway, the song I paired up for this is:

A Vase of Yellow Roses

Her parents died in a car accident when she was twelve. She was left all alone to a non-friendly and uncaring environment. The very reason why she stopped believing in God.

At the age of twelve, he found out he was sick. He possessed a disease which would kill him anytime. And this led him to believe in miracles, to believe in God even more.

Seven years later...

He kissed the piece of paper where he wrote his name and telephone number. "The girl who'll have this will be my destiny", he smiled ans placed the paper inside the book by Norman Vincent Peale. Ofcourse, it was just his wishful thinking. The books are for charity. But, he has so much faith and hope in his heart.

"Just the book that I'm looking for!" she exclaimed as she was browsing on the bargained books. She bought it at the price of only Php 25.00. As she got home, she started to read the book when a piece of paper fell.

"Matthew Montez. 555-1477." she read.

"May I know who's on the other line, please?", an angelic voice from a teenage boy spoke. It stunned her for a moment. "Hello? Are you there?"

"Ha? Mmmm.. hello..mmm..I'm Keiran. Mmm.." She stammered. This is the tenth time she called using different area codes and country codes. The past nine were failures. "Are you Matthew? Matthew Montez?" She just don't know why she even called that number. For all she know, Matthew could be an old man or someone made-up. But she got curious.

After that first call, many calls came from Matthew followed. They even exchanged letters now and then but neither one sent a picture. They vowed not to. They don't want to lose the magic of what they have just because of appearances.

That's how Matthew and Keiran's story of love started.

It all happened so swift that they've fallen in love with each other. But the thing is, they haven't met yet. Days passed and their feelings for each other grew.

Matthew taught Keiran to love again and still on the process of making her believe that God's real.

Keiran became Matthew's inspiration to live longer and fought his illness. But he never told her his real situation..that he's awfully sick.

One day, Matthew stopped writing. Stopped answering Keiran's calls. This broke Keiran into pieces. But she continued hoping until she lost all hope. She, too, stopped calling and writing.

Three months later, she graduated B.S. Nursing, passed all the examinations and decided to work in the United States of America.

"I'll find Matthew. After all, I still have his address" she promised herself the moment she sat on the airplane seat, holding the book which led her to him, and him to her. Matthew. The man she loves and will always love.

Much to her disappointment, Matthew wasn't there anymore. Nobody from his neighborhood knew where the family transferred.

"I have to move on..Matthew was just an illusion. He's someone I would never have. But..maybe the only guy I'd love for the rest of my life.."

She worked in a hospital in Chicago, Matthew's place, but got transferred to New York after 6 months.

"Oh God!" she gasped, seeing her comatose patient. He looks so pale and sick, breaking her heart.

"He's been in a coma for almost a year now", the doctor said.

She looked at his chart and cried, "No...not Matthew.."

Now, she realized the reason why Matthew hasn't been answering her calls and letters. And it's because he's sick. In a coma.

"You have to get well, Matt.. So you'll see me.. Didn't you tell me that you'd be so happy if you'll see me? Matt, I'm here now.." tears fell from her eyes. "Matt, I'm here now. Please wake up.. Please.." she whispered while holding his frail, unmoving hand.

The next day, she brought 7 yellow roses and placed it in a vase in Matthew's hospital table. She smiled, looking at him. "He looks like an angel.." she thought and kissed his lips gently. "It wouldn't hurt to steal a kiss from someone you love, right?" she said out loud when the door opened.

"Nurse Keiran, we need to take his respirator this afternoon", the doctor informed her matter-of-factly. He was followed by Matthew's parents who are both tear-streaked.

The respirator? The only thing that keeps him living..they'll take it away.

"No. Please no! Don't you love Matthew? Please? He'll get well.. You'll see, he will. Please, Mr and Mrs Montez? Please don't give up on him" She begged, crying, knees on the floor. "Please"

The decision was final. His parents couldn't take it seeing their son suffering. At 4pm that day, Matthew's life support will be taken away from him.

Due to much depression, she didn't know that her feet were taking her to the nearest church. She knelt and cried.

"You took away my parents. And now.. Matthew?"she shouted, facing Jesus Christ on the crucifix. "Please..."she whispered, begging"not Matthew, too. Lord, I'll make a bargain. Just let him live. This is the first time I've ever asked something from you. Please make him live...Just make him live and I'll serve you for the rest of my life. I don't care if he won't see me when he wakes up, just please let him live. Please.."

When Matthew woke up that day, he saw on his table a vase of yellow roses. 7 roses. 7..his lucky number..and a letter.

He read...

I know God would grant me my prayer. You may not see me when you'll wake up but always remember that i love you. I will always love you. Goodbye, Matt.

Keiran

Matt's health returned duly. It was a miracle, the doctors said. Now, it was his time to look fro Keiran hut it was to no avail. 7 years later, he got married. Selfish and unfair as it may sound, he still loves Keiran but he lost all hope of finding her.

Another 7 years passed...

"Dad! Come! The pretty nun and I have the same names!", Matt's daughter said, while they were at the church they visited in the Philippines. She pulled her dad toward the nun in white and black. "Sister Keiran, meet my dad!"

Silence.

"Matthew..", Keiran mutteres under her breath,as she recognized his face.

"How?" he was supposed to ask how she knew his name but then he saw her holding the book...the book of Norman Vincent Peale..his book..the book which lead him to her and her to him.. "Keiran..."

Tears fell from Keiran's eyes.

"Hon, let's go?", his wife said, oblivious of what's happening.

He sighed and nodded.

"Bye, Sister Keiran!", his daughter said.

Matthew wanted to tell her so many things but it's all too late now..too late. He walked away with his family with tears in his heart and eyes. He gave Keiran one last glance before they went out of the church's door.

It was the first time he saw her and the last time for them both. They may not have ended up together, but their love would always be there.

Sometimes you'd rather sacrifice your own happiness for the sake of the one you love.

You'd rather die...just to see them live.

A Bouquet of White Roses

She was crying a bucket of tears when he received his new phone.
She just broke up with her boyfriend.
It was his graduation. He graduated with honors. That's why his dad gave him a new gadget.
She kept looking at her phone, tears streaming down her cheeks, wishing and hoping that her boyfriend would call or text. Her phone did ring but it registered an unknown number.

With luck, he punched a number which actually rang. Mmmm..this could be my first text-mate if she's a girl and if she's of my age, he laughed-thought. He texted the number.

In need of someone to talk to, she replied. And found out that they were of the same age with the guy she's texting. To add, he actually made her smile. She had fun texting him. And it somehow helped her.

He had a great time texting her. There's no boring moment even in their most serious topics.

That's how Cole and Dawn's story of love started.

It all happened so fast and they realized that they've fallen in love with each other. But the thing is, they haven't met yet.

Days passed and their feelings for each other grew. Yet, they kept it  to themselves, thinking that it is wrong to love someone you haven't seen yet.

Cole promised Dawn that he's going to call her on her birthday. But something bad happened. His phone got snatched. It was his only access to Dawn. Plus, he was unable to memorize her number nor wrote it down. He was thinking that it will be safe in his phone.

September 9. She waited and waited but no call from Cole came during her important day. She got disappointed but tried to understand. She tried calling him but she kept on hearing a recorded voice message on the other line saying, "The number you have dialed is either unattended or out of coverage area. Please try your call later". This went on for weeks that it came to the point that she grew tired. Again, she's crying because of a love lost. Why do I always get hurt when I love, she cried.

Five years passed and so many things have changed. He was already 21 years old when Cole returned to the Philippines from Spain. In his mind and in his heart, Dawn's still present.

Dawn, try as she might, cannot forget Cole even after two years of changing her phone number and even after they moved to a new house.

"I'm now old enough. I need to find her. She completes me. I love Dawn. I'll take the risk. I still have the name of her hometown. I need to go and see her.", he thought.

Unfortunately, Dawn was no longer there. And nobody from the neighborhood knew where her family transferred. He went home sad but still hoping.

Another 5 years passed. Dawn decided to let go of her hope to see Cole and be in contact with him again. She decided to marry her high school classmate who's faithfully courting her for years. She made up her mind of having her wedding at the town where she lived before. Her plans of a wedding with Cole would no longer be.

"Sir, I've got news. Dawn's here. And she will be---"the spy Cole contacted wanted to say the word "married" but declined knowing it would only hurt Cole. It could probably just hearsays, too. He was unable to investigate further. So, instead he said, "She will be at the church come Thursday, 10 in the morning".

"Okay. Thank you! I'll travel there as fast as I can! Thank you so much!", Cole said, happily. Finally, he will be seeing the girl who's been keeping him happy and at the same time tormenting him due to deep longing for her. He may haven't seen her yet but he's certain he truly loves her.

The day of the wedding came. White roses were decorated elegantly in the aisle. Cole was already there at 8:30 in the morning, looking all handsome and excited.

"White roses. Dawn's favorite." he thought when he saw the flowers inside the church. He remembered back when she texted him that she wishes to be married in this church with white roses as the decoration. What a coincidence!

Dawn was crying before she started to prepare for her wedding. She's still inlove with Cole but only heaven knows where he is. And she has moved on with her life, she tried to convince herself that. She's also not getting any younger. It's not that she's impatient but somehow, she's really losing hope of a love in a situation which was so vague in the first place.

The wedding started and ended well. Everybody was happy except for the beautiful bride and the guy who stood at the last pew, holding a bouquet of white roses.

As the bride passed by him, he walked towards her.

"Congratulations, Dawn. I'm happy for you", he said, with sadness.

"Thank you", she tried to cheer up knowing that she isn't really happy. "And...mmm...have we met before?" She asked realizing that the guy's face is unfamiliar but deep inside her, she knew she knows him.

The guy sighed.

"I'm Cole.", he said and handed her the bouquet of white roses.

Tears fell from Dawn's eyes as she received the flowers.

"Let's go, Dawn", her husband said and they walked away, his husband confused why she's crying.

Cole never moved from where he stood. He just stared at the couple walking away. He tried to blink back the tears that are already threatening to fall from his eyes.

Dawn gave Cole one last glance before she went out of the church's door.

It was the first and the last time they saw each other. They may not have ended together, love would always be there. Sometimes, fate would really interefere with love no matter how great.
